Although if you have never been, we must say that Rota, this town in Cadiz, near Costa Ballena and Chipiona, is a cosmopolitan city that oozes tons of charm, where we can enjoy the hospitality of its people and its delicious cuisine.
Rota is nature in its purest state, with vast and kilometric beaches, many of which are unspoilt and the meeting point for locals and visitors alike to suntan on their fine and golden sands.
It is worth highlighting that the most popular beach in Rota is Costilla Beach, considered one of the best beaches in Spain and also known as “La Concha del Sur” due to its beauty and resemblance with San Sebastian coast.
If you like contemplating the views, taking pictures or simply wander, we recommend a walk on the promenade where you can see small fishing boats going out to sea at dusk or contemplate the beautiful sunset.
Are you looking for a bit of peace? Then come to relax on the spectacular beaches of La Ballena or Punta Candor, near Costa Ballena, where you will feel like in heaven.
After a day of heat and sand, we recommend you to go to the small old town to contemplate its patrimony including the Luna Castle from the 13th century, the most emblematic site in the city. Opposite you will find the Gothic church of O and the Merced Tower, the only remains of the Merced Convent.
We can also observe the flora of the Botanical Gardens, do hiking and take spectacular photos in the dunes of the Natural Park of Almadraba, or walk through Rota’s nature in the Atlantico Park located by the ocean.
