If you are looking for something different during Madrid Hotel Week, here at the Hotel Elba Madrid we can recommend the sculptor, Miguel Couto’s exhibit.

The capital’s hotels are all set to offer the best of their establishments. Over 70 hotels will open their doors to the inhabitants of Madrid and tourists from 5th to 11th of November to invigorate the city through exhibits, free guided tours of iconic hotels within the capital and culinary experiences with renowned chefs. All participating hotels, including the Elba Madrid Alcalá, are offering a 15% discount on accommodation during this week.

Madrid Hotel Week is an initiative by the Hotel Business Association of Madrid, which began last year. The goal is to change the general public’s conventional perception of hotels, opening them up to the city through cutting-edge experiences and activities. 

What is there to do during Madrid Hotel Week?

Through our Madrid hotel, we wanted to join the ‘Madrid Hotel Week 2018’ celebration with an exhibit by the Galician sculptor Miguel Couto. The show is entitled Llegar (“Arriving”) and can be seen by the public in the Hotel hall. Admission is free.

This art exhibit in Madrid will bring together a selection of recent works, all modelled and cast by the sculptor in his Arteixo (A Coruña) workshop-foundry. The artist himself explains that “Llegar consists of a collection of 10 pieces whose intention is to reach the public on an emotional level, moving them but always in a pleasant way”. 

Couto is a good friend of Elba Hotels, a company with which he shares his Galician roots. The artist, who works mainly with bronze, created the trophy awarded to the winners of the Anjoca Golf Cup Tournament, the golf competition organised by our hotel chain every year on Fuerteventura. Thanks to Madrid Hotel Week and this art exhibit, the relationship between Elba Hotels and “its leading sculptor” continues to flourish.
