Holidays in Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura, the paradise of the Elba hotels.

The second Canary Island in expansion, known to be a quiet island, is one of nature’s paradises where the sun always shines. With an average temperature between 23ºC and 25ºC and more than 3,000 hours of daylight, Fuerteventura offers spectacular areas of natural beauty, declared a Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO.

Fuerteventura boasts the longest beaches of the Canary Islands, recently recognised by the Quality Coast organization. 150 kms of beaches of fine white sand or rough black sand and turquoise sea, marshes, sand dunes, volcanoes. Large beaches, such as the Corralero, Morro Jable, Costa Calma or the Caleta del Fuste, which offer all the commodities and which are well-communicated and within easy reach, the endless virgen beaches, such as the Cofete and El Cotillo and the small, quiet, hidden coves in Ajuy, Terife or the Isla de Lobos, or those which are protected from the waves, like the beaches that are to be found in the Fuerteventura Golf resort.
We discover wild and alive nature, landscapes that entice adventure and which provide the perfect setting for sports and adventure tourism.
The excellent hotel offers in Fuerteventura for families, company and business events, sea and wind sports, golf and incredible places for well-being and body care turn this island into a heavenly paradise.

Sport and Activity

Walking, mountain biking, Nordic walking or simple strolls in places near the sea or in inland areas with a volcanic appearance, where the contemplation of squirrels, Majorera goats or camels allow you to enjoy intense sensations. Tuineje, and its surrounding region, is dotted with fishing and inland villages where the typical architecture in clay, stone and limestone offers unforgettable options. Tindaya, as the enigmatic mountain, is an indelible reference on hundreds of possible routes.
The golf courses in Fuerteventura offer a special landscape nestled between palm trees and lakes, on courses of a renowned design with natural gullies and with routes that lead towards the ocean; swimming and sailing await their visitors.
And at night the wonders of the cosmos can be observed. Due to the latitude of the island, there are special places where it is possible to observe constellations, star clusters and spectacular phenomenons, such as eclipses and meteor showers, either with the naked eye or with binoculars.

Biodiversity and nature

A sustainable use of natural resources, without forgetting the recuperation and conservation of species that are linked to the island such as the monk seals, sea lions, turtles, whales… has rewarded the island with renowned fame. The Isla de Lobos is proud of displaying a great part of this biodiversity and it provides a wonderful example of resistance and a preoccupation for the real thing.

Historical patrimony and cultural variety

Fuerteventura is an island that also surprises us with the variety of patrimony, archaeology, ethnography, history and art. Betancuria, with its cobbled streets and limestone facades, is alive with history.
A peaceful island, rich with folklore and traditions, on which festive pilgrimages and popular celebrations take place throughout the whole year, together with international music festivals.
A singular selection on the insular museum Network preserves the history and trademarks of a homely Majorero village. A rich heritage of a cultural interest, interpretation centres, lighthouses, House Museums, such as Unamuno or Doctor Mena’s homes, and other charming museums are dotted around the island.
