Golf in Fuerteventura

There are few places in the world with the features of the Canary Islands, and Fuerteventura in particular, when we refer to playing golf. Playing golf in the Canary Islands, in Fuerteventura, surrounded by the calm, the peace and the beauty and, especially, the view of the sea, is a marvellous experience. Fuerteventura Golf Club was the first 18-hole golf course on the island. It was the venue of the Spanish Open 2004, only two years after opening. The layout meanders around lakes, waterfalls, palm trees and natural gullies that fascinate the most experienced player. This is a par 72 course, designed by the prestigious architect, Juan Catarineau, who endowed the layout with views of the ocean throughout the whole course. Opposite, we find another course, Salinas de Antigua Golf Club, with 18 holes and par 70. This is a club where interesting tournaments often take place, such as that which welcomes more than a hundred players, the Anjoca Golf Cup, in the stableford individual modality. 

If you wish to play this sport, Hotel Elba Palace, located in the centre of the countryside, is the most appropriate place to stay. In fact, it is in the Hotel Elba Palace Golf where the Fuerteventura Golf Club has established the Club House premises. Likewise, there are other hotels in the same area: Hotel Elba Sara, Hotel Elba Carlota and Hotel Sheraton Fuerteventura. They all feature golf courses. There will be special green fee rates and packages that will allow you to play throughout the whole year.
